Presentation

Presentation plan

Rough notes:

1st slide: Over the summer i went to a small market town in Dorset called Blanford Forum.

2nd slide: The town itself had quite a large focus on tourist attraction due to it being relatively close to the seaside

3rd slide: The signage around the town had a bunch of different yet distinct
styles to them. From chalk board hand made text to old metal signage type

4-5 slides: For me though, I was really interested in all of the chiselled type found all over Dorset. A vast majority of each engraved typefaces was serif based with a few exceptions, both of which had a commanding presence to them, especial the serifs, due to the depth each letter had.

6th slide: Along side that, something that made each typeface really unique
from each other was the different levels of erosion and weathering each stone had. It really added to the power that the type had and its effected its permanence.

7th slide: with all the stone based chiselled typography, there was also some really elegant wood based type that give the signage a beach vibe. These where also found next to a lot of walking stone signs
