OUGD504 Type in context - Book Layout

for the layout of the content, i knew i wanted to showcase the images in a full bleed setting to allow the craft of stone cut lettering to be shown off in its full potential as each letter shows of each marking used to create the form. Its this i want to show and want people to look at and find new things within the images. For this, i wanted the layout of the book to have the large page images with text upon a white background to allow finger prints to be seen after handling the slate, similar to that of Irma Booms book SHV. After discussing my concept and ideas with nick and my peers, i had set upon testing out what the best way to to show case my images and i got to the point where the image covering a full page wasn't enough to fully appreciate the craft within the images. So to combat this, the image would become a semi double page spread (if thats a thing) to leave enough room for the text to sit. After a few prototypes of what i wanted, I settled for these:

the last few pages focused on the typical workshops that these practitioners of this craft work in and to fully showcase it and get people to come up with there own thoughts and ideas of what these tools are used for, i left a double page image with no text to allow people to pick it apart without being told what its used for as the rest of the book before it has been doing this up till this point.
