Collaboration
Out of the submissions
to The Elephant Room, myself and Dylan Stott was chosen to work on the branding
for Making London event. To get a feel for what we would have to produce and
the team we would be working with, we organised a skype conference call to gain
as much information as possible.
Main notes from the
conference:
Website to be a single
page site that you scroll through
Images will need to
speak for themselves
Neutral colours
The event will be in
Conway hall
For the website use
squarespace to create it
Use the app Slack to
communicate with all the creatives involved with the event
Have the branding done
by the 5th and the website up and running by 9th of April
Keep communication constant when designing the assets
The Event itself will be on the 2nd of May
From the Skype
call, myself and Dylan started to work on the branding. Whilst working, we took on different roles
due to the very quick turn over, Dylan finished the logo and most of the
branding assets while I worked on the web element for the event. To help us collaborate with Elephant Room and
the other founders of the event (Backscratchers, Dazed and Creative Mornings
London), we were suggested to download and use the app Slack, a sort of
WhatsApp for creatives to manage collaborative projects. Talking to the group about making the
website, they gave a few examples of sites that they liked the layout for and
suggested that I use Squarespace to develop the website as it would be quicker
and easier to manage for the whole group.
