The Elephant Room Wickes brief
Following on from Creative Convos, Elephant Room issues a
brief to rebrand the paint section of the DIY store Wickes, to update it and
bring it into the more modern age.
Having less than a week to send over our ideas, we could only send over
a proposal for what we would like to work on.
After sending it over I received the following positive feedback from
both Will and Katie:
What’s really impressive is
how you’ve thought outside the box to find new technological advances that will
make the consumer experience and journey easy and interactive. I think that there are a few tweaks that can
be made to really ensure the solution in solving a problem and to be clearer
that this is a partnership piece.
Overall for your portfolio I
would make this a partnership between Scribble and Dulux and make it really clear
in the write up. It currently looks as
though Scribble is your own invention.
I think where this will work
really well is if you could create a special addition Dulux and Scribble pen that
allows you to pick Dulux shades from digital devices and then paint them
straight on to you walls to test. So in
effect, instead of it mixing ink and it being a ballpoint pen – it would mix
paint and be a paint brush on the end.
This would mean that once
consumers have the pen/paint, they could tap it on their digital devices to get
the sample colour and apply it straight to their walls without having to keep
going to stores or reordering lots of different samples.
On top of this they also reached out and offered a
placement opportunity at their company to shadow them as they have a few briefs
coming up that they would like to work with me on. I am waiting for them to come up with a time
schedule.
