Public Information Leaflets

Research

z

All of these are existing examples of information leaflets and posters that are aimed towards kids, Each poster // leaflet contains information in points so there is no large body of text to discourage kids from reading the info. Most of these have a character or a cartoon on it to grab the kids attention, ill have to look into that for my design. The average Colour scheme for these seems to be light colours like blue, orange and then some out there colours to grab attention like yellow and red. with this, I've started to look at the psychological effects colour had on kids. to gain an understanding of how the mind of the kids work, I've researched into the behaviour and nature of them to gain an understanding of how the attention spawn works and what attracts them to information (link)

The advertising rules surrounding children are deliberately strict. This is because children are generally more credulous and lack the experience of adults to engage, critically assess and cope with commercial images and messages. With this,  you have to consider that too much info is bad as kids minds just switch off after seeing large bodies of text. Instead, make the information more engaging so the kid will want to read it. you can do this by making the text colourful , making it into smaller points or make a game from it. with the way kids minds work now days, the average attention span of them are between 10-20 seconds according to studies. So to work with that, you have to make your info quick and easy to read
