Money making: A brief history of currency from the British Museum

Simon sent out an email which proved to be extremely beneficial to this project. the article is focused on a debate that has begun over the choice of JMW Turner to be commemorated on a Bank of England banknote. As with the new £5 and £10 notes from the Bank of England, being introduced this year and next, the £20 note will be made of plastic. This extends a rich history of changing currency in the UK and worldwide.

Anatomy of the note

Ecuse the bad design of these but they show the anatomy of the note really well and all the features they have so it cant be counterfited.

The Banknotes of the world

One thing that is lacking in the note world is that there are very few examples of a bright, colourful note. most are quite plain and a bit dull. with this, i thin that i want my designs to be bright in colour so that they stand out

UV Bank notes

Something i've been thinking about doing for the brief is using an invisible / UV ink on the paper and after searching around i came across these amazing note designs that have the skeletons of each animal show under a uv light where as other wise they seem to be just painted animals. Going to have to ask if they have any of this paint/ink at the workshop.
