Guidlines

From our last group discussion, we began producing guidelines as a group so that we could all work on our contributions over the break.

We decided on two typefaces:

BP Dots would be used for display purposes being that the dots were related to the way the stocks are displayed.

We also set out to use helvetica as a body typeface as it is easily legible and has links to New York (home of wall street) due to its use in the city/ transport branding on the likes of street signs. It was important to identify a second typeface as bp dots is not legible at small point sizes.

We also needed colours to use in the designs. It was a logical choice that we should use red and green due to the visual shown above. However realising this combination was not complimentary nor visually appealing we as a group decided to tone the red into a more orange shade which would solve this issue.

We then needed to decide on a shade within the orange green colour scheme. So we put together a selection of swatches, adding the numbers and letters so that we could inform the group on what colours we preferred.
