secret 7

Secret 7 Track Choice

For me, something that I struggled with was making a choice out of the 7 choices of the competition So, while unorthodox, I went for the ol' lady luck way and flipped a coin and let it choose for me. In the end, it was John Lennon's peace anthem 'Imagine' so in order to gain a personal understanding of the song i put down my thoughts as I listened to it on a mind map.

Paris Attack Pianist

In the wake of this years recent terror attack on France, a Pianist played John Lennon's Imagine as an act of defiance to the people behind the attacks to show that the people of Paris and everyone with them will stand strong and united. As this is a very recent event it is fresh in the minds of people all over the world as its a hot discussion subject.

Interesting video from a musical YouTube I've been following

I think I've been listening to Dan Bull now for how ever long he's been on youtube now and i have to say this might be one of my favorite songs that hes done. The song is comprised of beatles songs  used as lyrics to describe John Lennons life. Thankfully a youtube commenter found each of the song titles he uses within the song which are

Working Class Hero (1971) Power to the People (1971) Imagine (1971) Peace Love & Truth (2005) Give Peace a Chance (1969) Do You Want to Know a Secret (1963) From Me to You (1963) All You Need Is Love (1967) Love Me Do (1962) Acoustic (2004) [Album] Rock 'n' Roll (1975) [Album] The Long and Winding Road (1970) Rubber Soul (1965) [Album] Old Brown Shoe (1969) Walls and Bridges (1974) [Album] Come Together (1969) Twist and Shout (1961) 1 (2000) [Album] What Goes On (1965) Revolution 9 (1968) Revolution (1968) Paperback Writer (1966) A Spaniard in the Works (1965) [Book] In His Own Write (1964) [Book] I Am the Walrus (1967) [Only shown as animation in the background] Whatever Gets You thru the Night (1974) Every Man Has a Woman Who Loves Him (1984) [Album] [Yoko Ono] This Boy (1963) Mother (1970) The Ballad of John and Yoko (1969) or just John's wife Something New (1964) [Album] She Loves You (1963) Real Love (1988) Love (1970) (Just Like) Starting Over (1980) Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins (1968) [Album] Abbey Road (1969) [Album] Let It Be (1970) Borrowed Time (1984) Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions (1969) [Album] Jealous Guy (1975) Revolver (1966) [Album] Ask Me Why (1963) Hello, Goodbye (1967) Apple Records [Company] Strawberry Fields Forever (1967) Instant Karma! (1970) Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy) (1980) Free as a Bird (1977)

The video paints a picture of the type of person John Lennon was and the amount of people that he touched with his music.

Beatles

Just to gain a basic knowledge of how previous vinyl covers where designed for the Beatles. There design are quite simple in terms of layout and in some cases, just containing the bands name (the 1968 demos). To look more into the man behind the song i started to look into the art he produced while in the Beatles....

John Lennon's Art

His art style is a very sketchy design that looks like he scribbled these down quickly but yet they have something about them that makes them so pleasing to look at. Maybe its the simplicity or the human forms he's able to portray but its just something about them that make me really like them and I just cant put my finger on it.

Yoko ono Art (Johns Wife)

While john had is art, his second wife, Yoko Ono, who has become a huge name in the multimedia art industry for he may piece of work shes done but out of them, htese styles are the ones that stand out to me. The looks of them being made up of small dots is such a coll design and i can imagine it would take ages to produce.
