Anatomy of Type (sketchbook)
This mornings lecture was all about the 'Anatomy of Type' which has given me more of an appreciation and understanding of what Typography is. During the talk we learnt what the correct terminology was for every thing that it takes to create a typeface such as, the difference between Serif and Sans Serif, what each part of a letter is called and what Tracking and Kerning are. Funnily enough, I was talking to a friend of mine a few days ago about what we've learnt about Kerning from A-Level and we stumbled upon a online app that helps teach you how to properly Kern letters. This has actually helped me gain more of a knowledge on the subject and has also helped me in the lecture by already having (a somewhat) understanding of what some of the terminology meant. And who said games where bad for you.
If you fancy a go at the kerning game I mentioned then here you go
(I scored 89 at first)
