Box net
with the brief just starting to create a concept for a board game i decided to take it further and create a rough mock up for what the box of the game.Colour not only plays a major role in making the box stand out on the shelf, it also conveys the games message and persuades consumers to actually buy the product. so for this packaging i wanted to portray a message of simplicity whilst also showing that the game is sociable, fun and evokes enthusiasm as i feel these are what i want the game to come across as. To portray this ive used the colour scheme of Orange and White for the the box (the box is beige as a stand in for white so it can be seen)

the pattern was created as a nod to who wants to be a millionaire which was one of the top selling board games for 18-25 year olds (when it was out) behind monopoly but i think it just over complicated the design and message. Plus it didnt have anything to do with the message of the game. one thing i considered was that how do people keep score of the game, most games don't have anything or if they do they have a notebook to write in. To combat this i considered having the white space being a dry-wipe board. better yet, coating the box in a hydrophobic spray as that allows maker pens to be used and rubbed of easily without leaving a mark, plus it will further the life span of the box
